Housing is a basic human right
At Companions, we believe that for people with disabilities, a home is more than a shelter.
It is a place to live in dignity and security; a place that allows people to make their own choices, to feel comfortable, and to be included in community life, with access to services and supports as needed.

About Companions in Maryland
We are on a mission to help individuals with disabilities reach their full potential, through innovative housing solutions, remote supports, and skills training.
We first started supporting individuals in traditional group-based settings in 2012.
But we soon realized that this model was restricting growth and independence for the people we supported. That’s why we transitioned to helping the young men and women in our care to move out, and into their own apartments. They go on to self-direct their own lives, and we continue to be inspired by their success stories.
Our core values set us apart
People focus, respect, competence, positivity, and integrity.
Those values guide our organization and are the foundation on which we make important decisions.
Companions stands out as the provider of choice for individuals looking to create a good, vibrant life for themselves and families seeking innovative supports to accompany their loved ones on their personalized journey towards independence.
Our Team
Each of the team members is dedicated to delivering the best results for our members and their families.
